We had an amazing and exciting summer here at Voices for Children of Broward County! Because of our friends like you, we were able to have a Summer of Fun. Read more below about all of our summertime activities that helped to build memories for a lifetime.
Summer Camp ☀️
This summer, with the support of generous friends, we were able to send 10 kids to local summer camps throughout our community. Each of our kids where able to grow, learn, try new activities, and make new friends.

Dream BIG Day: Everglades Holiday Park 🐊
On Saturday, July 16, 2022, Voices for Children of Broward County took 20 kids, along with their Guardian ad Litem, to Everglades Holiday Park for an unforgettable Everglades excursion. The day began with a 60 minute private guided airboat tour, zipping along at speeds up to 60 miles per hour. We journeyed deep into the endless marshes and waterways of the Everglades for a thrilling adventure. We experienced breathtaking panoramic views and got up close and personal with many alligators and other exotic wildlife!
After the private airboat tour, we headed to our private pavilion for a tasty catered lunch made specially for us by the Everglades Holiday Park Cafe. We finished the day by enjoying a live gator show in the world-famous “Gator Pit”.
It was such a fun and thrilling day! It was a perfect day mixed with excitement, discovery, and learning about the important role the Everglades play as a natural wetland, and what can be done to help preserve it.

Christmas in July ✨
On Monday, July 25, 2022, Voices for Children of Broward County hosted the Annual Christmas in July event! At this event, Guardians ad Litem had the opportunity to shop through hundreds of toys, games, puzzles, clothing, and other items for their children to help bring smiles and comfort to children in foster care.
During Christmas in July, 45 Guardians ad Litem, lined up with bags to fill, shopped for 141 foster care children. All of the items shopped for will be used for birthday gifts, first time visits, court hearings, family enrichment activities, and ‘just because’ treasures.
With help from dedicated volunteers and our local community, our space was transformed into wonderland of joy. Thank you to everyone for helping to make the 2nd Annual Christmas in July a huge success!
