Voices for Children of Broward County

Thousands of children are abused, abandoned or neglected every day in the United States. Through no fault of their own, these children are cast into a complex, chaotic and uncertain environment of courtrooms and foster care. They are alone, and they are scared.

Guardians ad Litem are specially trained volunteers from the community who are appointed by the court to work one-on-one with these children to advise the judge on the children’s progress through the system and make recommendations for placements and permanency. Guardians ad Litem fight for and protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family.

The Guardian ad Litem is often the only voice and the only person advocating for the child throughout the child’s time in the dependency system.

Voices for Children of Broward County Florida, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, is committed to see that, within our county, each and every abused, abandoned or neglected child is assigned a Guardian ad Litem.

“The mission of Voices for Children of Broward County is to support the Guardian ad Litem Program, which advocates for the abused, neglected and abandoned children in the State’s care.”
