THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN VOLUNTEERING WITH US!

We have some excited changes happening at Voices for Children of Broward County. As a result, we are in the process of rebuilding our volunteer program.  Below are the some different types of volunteer opportunities that we seek for volunteers for. All volunteer opportunities take place at our Mimi Center of Hope in Lauderdale Lakes. Volunteers aged 18 and up are welcome to apply and should email info@voicesbroward.org for more information. Potential volunteers will be required to participate in an orientation meeting and interview.

Volunteers are an important part of our team. They play an important role in helping to ensure every abused, neglected, and abandoned child in Broward County has a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem and that financial resources are available for each child’s accompanying health, educational, and social needs.

Fundraising and Event Support

If you are interested in learning more about nonprofit fundraising, databases, and special events, this is the volunteer opportunity for you! We have a need for volunteers to assist our fundraising efforts and may include scheduling meetings with prospects, connecting with current donors to share impact, preparing acknowledgment letters, researching grant, event sponsorship, and event silent auction opportunities, and helping to plan and execute special events. Average time investment = 2 – 4 hours per week.

Operations Support

Our organization is looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with keeping the warehouse organized (unpacking boxes, sorting donations, stocking shelves, breaking down boxes, help with cleanliness of warehouse, etc.) and supporting organization where needed. Average time investment = 2 – 3 hours per week.

Special Projects

We have experienced a time of rapid growth and we are in need of special project support to help with office work, mission support, and programs team support. Average time investment = 2 – 3 hours per week.

Public Relations

Our organization is looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with newsletters, marketing special events, working with media, issuing press releases and enhancing our image in the public eye. Marketing and PR experience is preferred but not necessary, just someone with the desire to get the story out about Voices for Children of Broward County. Average time investment = 1 – 2 hours per week.

Member, Board of Directors

We are always growing thoughtfully and interested in aligning with dedicated volunteers who share our vision. If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, please email info@voicesbroward.org for additional information on time and financial commitments and application process.
